CHILDREN'S PRIVACY NOTICE

This document is our way of telling you how Warner Bros. Entertainment Group will collect and use any information you give us when your use our websites or mobile apps.

If you need help understanding this document, you should ask an adult to read it and talk to you about it. If you are 16 or older, you should take a look at our general Warner Bros. Privacy Notice.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT FROM YOU?

Information about you

So we can get you access to our websites and mobile apps, and to answer any questions you have, we will ask for some information from you, like your first name, your location and email address.

For some of our sites, such as virtual worlds, you can play games, chat with your friends or get items, such as gems and additional costumes or powers for your character. For these sites you need to choose a nickname or create an account. In this case, we will also need your username, a password and other information about you.

Information about your adult

Sometimes, we need to collect information about your adult, like their email address. We do this so we can:

  • let them know about your interest in the website or mobile app
  • ask them for permission so you can join in
  • tell them how to activate some of the features for you

We will use their email address to help make sure your account works properly and to help you get a new password in case you forget it.

For some parts of the website and apps, we will need to check with your adult. This means we will need to get some information from them, like their full name, address, email address and telephone number.

Your adult can also join in! They can share their activity in different ways, such as using social media. If they choose to do this, we will get some information from their social media account, like their username and other profile information.

When adults buy things

Sometimes, we let adults pay to join our clubs, buy items and use online money from our websites and games. They might decide to buy these things for themselves or give it to their friends and family as a present. If they choose to do this, we will ask for more information, like their full name, address, email address, telephone number and credit card number. If they want to buy something as a present for someone else, we will also need the name and address of the person they are buying the present for. We might sometimes ask for some more information about what they like buying so we can learn more about them – but they don't have to tell us if they don't want to! If your adult decides to use their credit card, they should read our general Warner Bros. Privacy Notice.

When you chat with your friends

Sometimes you might want to use our website or mobile apps to chat with your friends or to tell your friends about the website or app. For this, we will ask for your friend's first name and email address. We don't keep this information but only use it so you can get in touch with your friends.

Some of our websites will let you chat with your friends in a way that shows your conversation with other people on the site. Normally, you will choose from phrases we have already written. Otherwise, we will have to make sure to look at the messages so no one uses any bad words or shares your information! If we see that you are sharing your information with someone else, we will try to delete it before it's shared.

Information about your computer, console or smartphone

When you visit or play on our website, games or use one of our mobile apps, we will automatically get some information about your device and your internet browser. We will also get some information about your IP Address and how you use our website, game or mobile apps. To learn more, see our section about Cookies.

Alerts (push notifications)

You can choose to receive alerts from a mobile app. You can always turn these off in the settings of your smartphone. This might be tricky so make sure to ask your adult to help you.

When you get in touch with us

If you get in touch with us by email or using an online form, we will ask you for some information, like your name and email address. We will also ask you to tell us why you are getting in touch. Once we've helped you, we will delete your information.

COOKIES

What are cookies?

Cookies are tiny little files that have data in them. When you visit a website, a cookie is placed on your computer, console or smartphone. Some games for your console will have files that work like cookies. Cookies don't hurt your device!

What do cookies do?

Cookies help us to make your experience better. They can remember what you do on the website, in a game or mobile app (like your high score) and help us learn what you like doing.  The cookies will also help us know which parts of the website, games and mobile apps are popular and which ones we need to make better.

Some of our helpers and friends use their own cookies or other files (known as "web beacons"). These help us learn how many people visited a page or mobile app.

Your choices with cookies

You can choose to turn cookies off. Your computer, console or smartphone can warn you each time a website sends a cookie. You can also choose to block all cookies. You can do this using the settings menu. This might be tricky so make sure to ask your adult to help you.

If you do choose to turn cookies off, somethings on the website might not work properly or your experience might not be as good.

One of our helpers is called "Google Analytics". You have to turn off their cookies in a different way. To learn how to turn off their cookies, you can click here. You can also get your adult to install a plug-in so they can take control of Google Analytics cookies by clicking here.

SENDING YOUR INFORMATION AROUND THE WORLD

Usually, this is to the United States where Warner Bros. and our helpers will use your information in the way we've already described in this Privacy Notice. It's important to remember that some countries don't have laws that protect your information in the same way. If you or your adult want more information about how we send your information around the world, you can get in touch with us.

WE WANT TO KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE!

We protect your information to stop other people getting access to it. We also make sure to not keep your information for too long. We keep your information for for as long as is necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Sometimes the law says we have to keep your information longer than this. Otherwise we might have to keep your information for longer to protect you and us.
